Writer Bio
I am a student at Waukee High school, class of 2022. Outside of NCJS, I write for the Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science, play tennis for my highschool team, participate as a lead attorney for my Mock Trial team, and am also a leader on my highschool robotics team. Additionally, I volunteer as a math tutor and help man a homework hotline for students who need free help with their homework. My interests include biology, chemistry, medical therapies, and mathematics. In my free time, I enjoy learning and reading about science as well hanging out with my friends!
Research Interests
Genetics
I find genetics fascinating, especially with the recent innovations with CRISPR technology. Specifically, I’m extremely interested in how CRISPR can be used to treat hereditary diseases in the field of medicine.
Biology
Biology has always been a captivating subject for me. Learning about the underlying mechanisms that drive life is incredibly interesting and I hope to conduct additional biological research in the future.
Biomedical Engineering
Technology plays such a major role in our lives, which has translated to new innovations in every hospital. I love to learn about how technology is being used to treat diseases and disorders, and I hope to research and develop additional medical technologies.
