Writer Bio
I am a student at Waukee High School, class of 2022. Apart from NCJS, I also write for the Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science, play for my school’s varsity tennis team, and am the captain of my school’s QuizBowl team. My interests include theoretical physics, medical physics, science communication, and mathematics. In my free time, I enjoy reading about science and going down the Youtube rabbit hole.
Research Interests
Theoretical Physics
Currently, theoretical physicists are rushing to find the Theory of Everything, the theory that describes everything in our universe. I wish to research such theories that combine Quantum Mechanics and Relativity, such as String theory and Loop Quantum Gravity. Furthermore, I am intrigued by the nature of Black Holes and the theory of the multiverse, so I wish to research black hole cosmology and the possibility of inter-universe travel.
Gene Therapy
I am interested in discovering the ways genetic engineering technologies can be used to cure or treat diseases. I would like to do research that either directly tests gene modifying capabilities to combat diseases, or discovers the genetic mechanisms of certain illnesses. Contributing to gene therapy would be a huge victory for the future of medicine.
Neurotechnology
I am heavily motivated by Elon Musk and his company Neuralink. I am interested in studying the ways brain implants can cure Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, blindness, and other diseases. Also, I am interested in the study of Brain-machine interface technology and its applications in predicting future diseases.
