Writer Bio

I am in UC Berkeley’s Class of 2023 studying Molecular and Cellular Biology and Data Science with a passion for the intersection of business, technology, and healthcare. On campus, I’m an outreach associate and strategy consultant at Neurotech@Berkeley, a member of iGEM’s computational biology team, and a mentor in Sage Mentorship. When I have some spare time, I enjoy cooking, playing tennis, and reading.

Research Interests

Computational Biology

Recently, I’ve been exploring the field of computational biology and how important it is in the fundamental understanding of proteins and other integral molecules in our bodies. The current project I’m working on is in regards to a particular enzyme’s structural components and how altering its active site can impact its catalytic activity.

Immunology

Cancer immunotherapeutic drugs are currently on the forefront of the pharmaceutical drug industry. Over the last few years, the increase in monoclonal antibody and small molecule drugs have proved incredibly effective at treating a variety of autoimmune diseases, cancers, and other rare illnesses. I am passionate about research in this field as well, and hope to pursue a career in this field after graduation.

Mental Health

Mental Health issues are extremely prevalent in the young population. As a Crisis Text Line Counselor, I’ve witnessed firsthand how difficult it is for teenagers and young people to navigate their emotions when they have innumerable responsibilities. I’m very interested in learning more about the psychological impacts of stress on mental health, and how they can carry on into adulthood for most young people.
