Writer Bio

I am a member of the Dartmouth Class of 2023, where I’m studying Chemistry and Economics, and I am also on the pre-med track. Outside of ICJS, I write for the Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science, do computational chemistry research and write for The Dartmouth. I also enjoy hiking with Cabin & Trail, competing on the Timber Team and hanging out with friends!

Research Interests

Chemical Catalysis

I am interested in studying the mechanism and design of catalysts for use in chemical synthesis. Of particular interest to me are developments in transition metal catalysts and their role in facilitating enantioselective reactions, which I have had the opportunity to interact with through previous research in the chemistry department

Oncology

I am interested in the genetic and environmental causes of cancer and treatments used to fight it. One of the more interesting areas for me is the development of antibody-drug conjugates, which may facilitate more targeted treatment of cancer cells while minimizing harmful side effects.

Astrobiology

I want to learn more about the biochemical origins of life on Earth and how life evolved from simple hydrocarbons to the complex web of metabolism in early life. I am also interested in studying the potential for life on other planets and moons, both within the solar system and beyond it.
